In this episode, we explore gender-based violence (GBV), a pervasive problem rooted in harmful stereotypes and social norms that enforce unequal power dynamics.

GBV refers to violence directed at someone because of their gender, and disproportionately affects women. The World Health Organization reports that one in three women worldwide will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, often at the hands of an intimate partner. This violence threatens fundamental rights, equality and social cohesion. Combating gender-based violence requires collective action to challenge stereotypes and engage men as allies who listen, speak up and support those affected to bring about meaningful change.
